This absolutely gorgeous ring was handmade in platinum and estimated to have been created between 1920-1930. It's hand-drawn and cut with a scroll pattern, set with prong and bezel-set diamonds, highlighted by a fine milgrain finish. This massive amethyst was chosen and specially cut for this ring with a dazzling diamond top faceted cut which shows off its strong purple hue with violet and magenta flashes when held in the light. It is believed to be possibly Russian or African in origin. The center stone measures a grand 24.2 mm long by 18.4 mm wide and weighs over 30 carats in total, being held in place by 10 lion claw prongs. There are 4 old mine-cut diamonds on each side of the band, two of which are bezel-set as well as two more diamonds which are set in a diamond shape pattern that leads to a narrow band which tapers from 2.3 mm to 1.25 mm wide. The diamonds are estimated at approximately .20 carats in total weight with G-H color and SI1 to SI2 clarity.
